SERIOUSLY....I CRIED

O.K. I am sure you all get sick of my wretched DI finds. But being the "Thrift Goddess" (haha) I am, it is a big part of my life and passion. So you will have to deal with these posts!

I was so excited to find this!!!! Seriously, I teared up in the van. I have been saving my extra money here and there, for a new bedroom set for the girls. The one I have had my eyeballs on costs a pretty penny. So I haven't been in to much of a hurry. Although I want it badly, you also all know that I have a hard time convincing myself that paying a pretty penny is a great idea. So, I have been fine with just waiting and someday purchasing it.

WELL....wait.....NO MORE!!!

I found something even better at fractions of the cost! I still can't believe I found it! I was looking at this wretched, rickety old wood, twin poster bed. Thinking that "Hey, self, you could make this work for the girls. Just add paint and fix it up." It was only $12.00 and I was considering it. I called Beau to see if he could run over and get his opinion. (I am weird, I know. Total women, 'cause I am so indecisive and fickle minded. I need reassurance! HA!) Anyways, he said he couldn't come over. So I still sat there thinking about it, and then..........

this beauty caught my eye............

Oh my goodness. Gorgeous. I knew from this little glimpse, there was something beautiful smashed between all the other germ infested wood head boards, foot boards, and cribs! So I pulled the pieces out...... ( Even without worrying how dirty my hands were getting! Of course, it wasn't put together, but I knew this was a keeper. Although my friend happened to be there and I did ask her opinion. Which is funny, cause after I got it together I was thinking "what is wrong with you self...this is a great find")

It may not look like it now, but I could tell right away this was a high quality bed. The bed I have saved for is trundle. But I have a trundle, so I can just keep it, and heighten the bed and roll it under to make it work. I still feel all giddy and dream like! (No I didn't just say that) I can't wait to put a fresh coat of paint on it and get it ready!

SO STAY TUNED..................................

Oh..and just for fun...guess the cost!! The bedroom set I saved for was $550.00 for just the bed. It looked a lot like this, but newer.... HAPPY GUESSING!!!

I HATE HATE HATE HATE that you have a DI. I don't have one and it BLOWS! GRRR. I would love to be able to be doing fix it projects but unfortunatly, with no garage, no yard, and no extra rooms to do these projects in I would be doing them in my bedroom or living room for the duration of time it took to fix them! oh well. I'm so happy you found a sleigh bed for that cheap I'm sure you will make it awesome!

Okay, I'm seriously so jealous of your D.I. finds! I guess I need to bring myself to go in there and look aroumnd. Hmmm, cost was $20 or so. Am I right? It's worth more, for sure, but I know what kind of bargainer (is that a word) you are. Good job! I'm seriously jealous of that bed. If you decide it won't work for you, I know someone that will give you a pretty penny for it! Hint! Hint! :)

Please don't tell me you got this for anywhere under $50.00. It is so pretty. I guess I need to go to DI more, It is just so dirty and I am a crazy lady with a big germ problem. Seriously.... I can't go to certain places. My phobia is keeping me from some really great deals. I need help. LOL. Can't wait to see the finished product with all of the bedding on. I bet your girls are thrilled!!!

Well my sister gave it away in her fist comment. I didn't realize one of the pictures still had the tag...but Yeah...a whoppin' $20.00 . Which is strange since the Cedar DI always overprices everything....but in this case they didn't! Hooray for me!!

I know we are not supposed to covet things, but I can't help it. That bed is to die for and $20 bucks, come on!!! Our DI would have priced that at $50 or more. I am loving it!! Oh and thanks for the joys of home blog, love that too. I am inspired to go find doors now. She had some killer ideas on there. I am excited to see the finished project, head to my blog to see my finished projects that I did last week.
