Let's play the guessing game!

A week ago I got new furniture for my front room. I had been watching it on Craig list for awhile but was hesitant because I like dark colors and it was fairly light(a light tan). But this set was leather and that is a huge bonus in my book. (I don't think after owning our other leather set I would ever do fabric. It wipes and cleans so nicely.) Anyways the price was set pretty high and of course being the cheap skate I am decided against it.

Beau and I kept watching it and the price went down quickly because they were anxious to sell it before they moved. We went and looked at it and I loved it. Even though the price was right, I was hesitant. (This is just me by nature. I have a hard time spending a huge sum of money at one time. On one thing! I really am a cheap skate- what can I say?) I kept thinking about it but decided not to get it. But Saturday night I came home to it in my front room. Beau had surprised me with it!I am so glad he did too because I love it and I would have been an idiot not to get it!

So my question to you is how much do you think we spent? This is a all leather set, a little over a year old, and the owner payed $3800 for it. It is in perfect condition and has no flaws! If I already told you than you can't guess. But I just want to see what kind of deal you think we got! Happy guessing! May the best guesser win!!!

Easter

Since I dropped my camera and lost all my Easter pictures, I made the kids wear there Easter clothes again yesterday! I had to show you all how cute they all looked! My mom made the girls dresses. She really is the most amazing seamstress! Everyone loved the dresses and fussed over them at church! So thanks mom for your "sweet skills"! To bad that wasn't genetic!!

It's Spring, Spring, Spring, Again.....

I had to share this because it is sooooo cute! Caleb walks around the house singing "It's Spring Again" over and over. I love his sweet little voice. If I try to sing with him, he is quick to correct me if I do it wrong. He talks to me in a "matter of fact" voice and tells me that there will be "No Super Singer sucker for you mom." HAHA

He has learned so many good songs at school. Right now he is also learning the song "I am Proud To be An American". He comes home from school and instead of singing the song, he describes to me what it is about. He told me that (in his words) " We need a be thankful for those who died mom. For our free country and land. Or else we're not berry nice!" It was very touching that he understands the message of the song. That was always one of my favorites as a young child. But I don't think I understood it near as well as he does now. As soon as he sings it I will get that one on camera also!!

Happy Birthday Katie!!

Oh Kat-lee-

I can't believe that you are twenty two years old now! And soon officially entering the world of "Mothers." It seems like just yesterday when you were singing "Oh Boy I got Joy" in your cutest little voice, with your tight piggy tails!

Some of my favorite things about Katie are-

*She is generous. She is always offering to help out and pay for things.
*She is very smart. She has always been smart and will continue to be!
*She calls me a lot! I appreciate that because I get home sick and it really makes my day!
*She is everyone's favorite Aunt. The kids love the sleepovers they get to have at her house.
*She is sooooo beautiful. She has always been such a pretty child and now a beautiful women.
*She is a good listener!! Just recently I was really having a hard time and Katie called and she could sense it. She asked me what was wrong and let me "unload" on her. She listened the whole time, without changing the subject, or being pre-occupied! She really made me feel better. I have always appreciated what a good listener she is!
*She is sincere!!

Katie I just love you so much and can't believe my baby sister is growing up! I am so excited for you to be a mother. I know you will be great!

Ahhh....that Good Ole' Smell of Cat

Nothing beats that good old fashion smell of Cat in the morning! HA! This is something Kennedy does every time she sees the cat. She first traps her. (Unfortunately, Dottie isn't a big fan of Kennedy's. Maybe it has something to do with the fact Kennedy likes to use her as a pillow? hmmmm...I don't know) Then she picks her up and gives her a good ole' fashion sniffing. And let me just tell you it's not just a light sniff either. It's the kind where she inhales as deeply as possibly while rubbing her face back and forth over the Cat's fur. (yuck)

I scold her every time she does it. I tell her how incredibly gross it is. But she always faces me with this sassy face and says in her cute ,high pitched voice "Kitty wikes it mom. She weawwy weawwy do's."

Soooo...what does your Cat smell like? HAHAHAHA

Couples Game Night

Last night we went to the Feltners for game night. It is always good to get out with the fun couples in our ward. We always have such a great time when we are all together. We played the game "This is a very serious situation". You have to say these words to someone as hilarious as you want and they can't crack a smile. They have to say "Indeed it is" after you are finished saying your line all without smiling. It was hilarious to see what people came up with to make others smile. As you can tell from my slide show, we had way to much fun. Don't get the wrong ideas either, it was all in the name of a smile! HAHA!!

Shauna is the champ! She cracked us all!! Hope you have a good laugh!!

Oh and for those of you who know my FAMOUS "country dance"- I did it!! HA!( And for those of you who haven't seen it, man are you missing out-hahahah) I know what my sisters are thinking- you didn't!! But you gotta win someway right? To bad it wasn't as good as Shauna's flying Pelican move!!

Family Home Evening!

We had so much fun at Three Peaks over this past weekend that we decided to load up and take the kids up again! ( Plus, I was anxious to ride too, and since it is only a 5-10 minute drive it is perfect) So we loaded up Beau's bike, Caleb's bike, and ole' red. It worked out perfectly because Beau rode with Kennedy, Caleb took himself, and I rode with Savanah. We putted around the mountain for an hour. Caleb is becoming quite the little rider too!!

Easter Weekend!

Unfortunately, I dropped my camera and as fate would have it, I lost all of the pictures of the kids in their Easter clothes. And all of the goodies in their baskets. So, I will try to remember to take pictures of them next week in their Easter clothes and post it late! Sorry!

This Easter weekend was a lot of fun! Beau's little brother Wes and his family were down for a visit. So Beau got to finally take his new bike out and actually "really" ride it. They rode from St. George to Mesquite and made a whole day trip of riding. I know he had a lot of fun. I took the kids to St. George and shopped with them. They were so good for me and when I was exhausted they were the ones who would say "Let's go to another store."

We also took the kids up to Three Peaks and let them put around on their motorbikes. Easton brought his bike too, so Caleb was able to learn even more from watching Easton ride.

Nikki and I had so much fun talking, laughing, and sharing ideas for decorating. We don't get to see each other a lot, so we always have tons to talk about. Beau and I really enjoyed ourselves with them. So did the kids. It was nice for them to play with their cousins. They all got along so well too! It would be nice to live a little closer! (hint hint - move here- ha)

We really did have a fun Easter Weekend! I love this time of year. When everything is blossoming and turning colors. It is a good reminder of new life, starting fresh, and of our Saviors Resurrection and what he has done for each of us! We hope you all have reflected and enjoyed yourselves. Love you all!!

Here is a little video clip for you to enjoy......hope you have a good laugh...cause we sure did!!

I am so ecstatic about his new book! For those of you who read the "Peacegiver" you will know how exciting it is that James Ferrell wrote another book. This one is called "Holy Secrets" I am going to start it tomorrow when I am done babysitting and I will let you know how it is!!! MAN I AM EXCITED!!!!

P.S. If you haven't read the "Peacegiver"- than do! It will change the way you think!! It is amazing and spiritually uplifting!!

A Special Family Day!

Beau got offered to go riding with his friends yesterday and I overheard him say that he wanted to spend the day with his family. He hasn't even taken his new bike out yet for a "Real Ride", but he chose to still be with us. I don't know why I am sharing this but I have been so overwhelmed with gratitude lately for a husband who ALWAYS makes time for his family. I always feel this way, but thought I would share how cute he is to the rest of you!!

I am so glad he chose to stay home too because we really had a great day! Yesterday we loaded up Beau and Caleb's dirt bikes, and the girls bikes and drove up to Three Peaks to spend the morning! It was the perfect day! While Beau practiced with Caleb- Savanah, Kennedy, and I hiked on the trails and climbed rocks. There was so much fun exploring and lots of sand for the kids to play in too. We stayed until about 1:00, then came back home to have lunch. Here are some fun pictures of our day-

After we ate we took the kids to "Horton Hears A Who". They loved it so much! It was so nice to be together and enjoy each other! I love my family so much and couldn't have asked for a better husband or better kids!!

An Early Birthday Present...

Ever since Caleb was three, he would ask Beau in his sweet little voice "daddy, I want a motorbike like you." Beau would say "When you get older. You have to learn to ride a bike without training wheels first." Caleb has been persistent in his asking. He remembered last year when he mastered his bike at age four and then really started asking about his motorbike. Beau finally told him "When you turn five, we will see what we can do."

With his Birthday less than a month away, you can imagine Caleb's persistent hounding about "daddy's promise". Of course being the over-protective mother that I am, I was pretty dead set that he wouldn't be getting one. That five was WAY to young!! But Beau reassured me that he NEEDED to teach his little man to ride so he could have a constant ridding budding through the years. So I told them both that we could start looking and tucked my babysitting money so we could get one!

We found a 2006 Honda CRF 50 at seriously a steal of a deal. So we took Caleb up to see how it fit him and of course, both Beau and him were hooked! And of course, Beau couldn't wait two more weeks to give it to him, so Caleb got an early birthday present.

I seriously thought it would take days, or weeks for him to learn to ride it. I looked outside after only TEN MINUTES and this is what I saw!!

I am still amazed that he rode so quickly!!

Bro. Tracy Feltner's Debut...

For those in our ward, I couldn't resist sharing this with you!!! When we went to Savanah's performance at the Cedar Highs dance teams Review, they had all the dad's of the dancers do a "drill down." And being the kind hearted individual I am, always thinking of others, and sharing, I decided that I wouldn't keep this to my self. Sharing it with the rest of the world would be great!

So "Dancing with the Stars" eat your heart out- because this is Bro. Feltner's big debut..... (make sure you tell him when you see him, how wonderful of a dancer he is.......hahahah.....I am EVIL!!! Or better yet, get his autograph..he might be famous someday- especially at the youth dances! HEEHEE!)

Can I Sew and Listen at the same time?

OK- before I answer that question at all, let me emphasize that I can't sew. A simple line or square is all I can do! And if you were to look closely at my work, you would notice the lines are always crooked! Now, to answer the above question- No!!! Here is what happened-

I was sewing and Savanah asked me a question, so I turned to look at her, while still sewing, and this is what happened!

I must have sucked my finger up. Because all I know is my thumb had throbbing pain, I looked down at it and saw the needle that had broken off protruding from one side of my thumb (in the back) to the other! Savanah quickly screamed (loudly I might add) "Don't touch me, I am calling 911!" I had to reassure her that I was OK and that 911 wasn't necessary. But she continued to say "get away from me.." She ran and got me a band aid so I could pull it out. I knew it would bleed a lot and it did too!! Man that really creeped Savanah out- then she was really saying "Don't touch me!" (You would think she considered me some form of alien life form the way she reacted)

So word to the wise:

IF YOU CAN"T SEW THAT GREAT, DON"T TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THE MACHINE!!!
