Sharla Comes to Visit...Part 2

Sharla and Justin's visit went way to fast! We tried to cram as much as we could since it was a short weekend. We went to St. George Shopping and out to eat, bbqed, stayed up way to late playing aggravation and having Dr. Mario wars, and hit Kolob Canyon for a short outlook hike!

Can you tell by their faces whose winning? hmmmmm...
We {heart} Kolob Canyon! It always makes for the perfect Sunday drive.
Oh this one melts my heart...
Come back you guys! We miss you!

Caleb's 8th Birthday

While Sharla and Justin were here Caleb had his 8th birthday. It is hard to believe that he has been part of our family for that long! He is such a happy kid! He is incredibly smart, stubborn, happy, and good at everything he puts his mind too!

Grandma and Grandpa Coon sent him a BB Gun for his 8th birthday.
He was ecstatic, to say the very least.
(sorry...don't mind the poor quality. I took these with my dinky camera )
He was so grateful for their thoughtfulness.
They always remember his birthday (and all the kids) and it means so much to us!

We got him a DS and some games and he LOVED it.

I am one of those mothers who hate seeing my kids get older. I want to cuddle them forever and never let them grow up. And because of this, we decided that instead of traditional "birthday spankin's" that we grew up with, we are going to wrap our kids up  in a blanket and make them let us hold them like a baby for one minute per age.
Needless to say, Beau and I enjoyed every minute.
I think the kids are gonna hate this idea...but "to bad so sad"! Mom's rule trumps all!
wahahahaha

Happy Birthday Caleb! We love you so much!

Sharla Comes to Visit

(Back in April.... I know we are so far behind!)

Right after Nikki and Wes left, my sister Sharla and her husband Justin came to visit with their baby Dylan.
I LOVE that they came. It is so much fun to share the things we LOVE about living in Southern Utah with others. We were hoping to convince them to stay forever.
One of the first things we did was go to Red Cliffs. We had never been before and decided it would be a fun adventure for our families.
We hiked in on a trail that seemed popular and found a gorgeous little spot to rest by some water. I can't believe we hadn't come here before. It was gorgeous and perfect for the kids!
Here are some random shots from  our hike.....
Beautiful Sharla....come back...I miss you so much!
 ewww.....these were everywhere...NASTY but fascinating.
 Justin and Dylan.
We weren't prepared for swimming...but that didn't stop any of us from wading in the water.
Doesn't this old tree look like an elephant? We thought so!
