Finished chair and fun things kids say

Savanah has been saying the funniest things lately!

Savanah: "Our family is going to be a double's fact soon mom."
Mom: "Oh, what is that?"
Savanah: "Three and three equals six. Three boys and three girls!"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This morning she brought her homework in to me and said "This is tricky mom. These congruent figures tried to trick me. " I just looked at her like what are you talking about. Then she pointed to the two figures and said " See, one is upright and one is sideways, but they are still congruent. I knew it was tricky!"

A fun visit and new project

Grandma Dawn (Beau's mom) and Uncle Reed stopped by on their way back from Yuma. It was so nice to be able to see them and let the kids spend time with them. Dawn was so sweet and treated her and I to a Mani/Pedi. I haven't had a Pedicure in some time and it was beyond lovely.

Thank you!

It is always nice to have them come stay. I cherish the time Dawn and I have to spend together, one on one, and get to know one another better. She is so full of life and spunk and I have always loved and admired that about her!! And we are grateful that Reed found her. We just love him to pieces!

Kennedy is pretty much attached to Reed's hip, whenever they come! She just LOVES him!!

Thank you guys for stopping! We look forward to seeing you again, hopefully soon!!

And chick-etty-check this beauty out..............

This wretched goody delight, of a chair, was calling my name. Although I am not sure where it will go (probably use it as a computer chair and for photog) I just couldn't pass this beauty by. It has so much character and uniqueness! Besides that, I have been antsy for another refurbish project!! I love chairs!!!

So stay tuned for the finished project, hopefully soon!!

Thank You Mom

Can I just tell you that I haven't felt prepared, at all, for this baby. I have had nothing, no blankets, no clothes, etc. But thanks to my fabulous mother I can say that I feel 100% prepared!! The women is amazing! She sewed and worked hard to help me. She made me all these blankets.........

(Plus five more that are not in this picture. She crocheted a blessing blanket, and made three others w/ stitching around the edge)

She made a bumper, crib sheets, and blankets, to match my bedroom..........

She made the girls bedding from this fabulous paisley sheet set I found on clearance......

(I am only going to show you the fabric now. The paisley sheets she made blankets out of. Then the polka dot is going to be a smaller quilt and some accent pillows. I am a mixer of patterns! You will have to wait to see the completed bedroom project when it is all finished)

She also found the time to hem things for me, let me rest every day, help me with the kids, shop with me, and much more! I was so sad to see her go. I kept it together really well when I dropped her off. But the ride home was a whole new ball game. I couldn't help but cry! I miss her so much! It is sad to hear my children cry about not living close to her. It breaks my heart!!

We even found time to get facials, and Kenny getting a Mani.....it was soooooo relaxing!!

We love you so much! And are so grateful for such a wonderful mother, grandma, and Mother-in-law. Beau kept saying how grateful he was for all the help you gave us!!

Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!!
We can't wait to see you again when the baby comes!!

Happy day of LOVE

Happy Valentines day to my Love Buckets!!
I love this man to death and look forward to every second we spend together! I love thinking back and reflecting on when we were dating. We had so much fun. I never realized that those "dating" days would never compare to what we share now. My love for you has grown even ten times stronger, our family has grown, and we have both grown!

Here's to many more years to come! Growing old together, sharing our lives, teaching our children, and moving forward! I love you babe!! I couldn't think of anyone better to be sharing my life with, than you!!

Desert Racing

So I have no clue how my husband convinced me to let him "Desert Race". But he did. His first race was on Saturday and it was perfect riding conditions. Not hot and small showers make for a perfect ride. We had no idea what to expect, 'cause he had never done this before. But what a lot of fun! He had a blast!! He raced with his buddy Jordan.

Beau raced his KTM XC-W 450

Jordan raced his KAWASAKI KX 250

There was three classes of riding. Experts first. Then Amateurs with Novice riders next.
The starting line to watch was scary. It seemed like mass chaos. But Beau said it was a blast!

(Here are some of the riders waiting for the start)

Here is the footage of the start. They make all the riders shut there engines off. It is dead silent and then when the flag drops. WOW! There is dirt blowing everywhere and plenty of action!

Beau was mingled in at the beginning with the Amateur/Novice riders. We counted and got all excited and how well he was doing. I am usually not competitive, but I did let out a squeal, I was soooo excited!. It is a 12-20 mile course. You ride for 2 1/2 hours and do as many laps as you can to determine the winner. You have pit stops where they get your number and do whatever they do to keep it accurate. The riders had to go through a river, that went clear up to their seats. That is where Beau ran into some trouble and stalled every time, which totaled an hour. He was so mad!

He still took FIFTH PLACE. Which I think out of the 100's of riders is EXCELLENT. Although he was mad the whole way home, cause he knows without stalling he could have placed even better!!

We had picked up my mom the night before the race in Las Vegas, so it was fun to have her there with me and the kids to watch Beau! The place where we were at in Mesquite was so beautiful. Although it was desert, you could see the mountains in the background and this storm rolling in .

Here are a few shots I got of the storm rolling in. I know I am weird, but I find it breathtaking! I can never take too many outdoor shots...completely raw!

Finished Product

So the bed turned out beautifully. I still can't believe I found it for only $20.00. It needed some work. But nothing to overwhelming! Here is what we did........

*Sanded and wood glued cracked head board. Also, added decorative molding

*Added 8 inches of "leg" on each leg, out of 2x4, so the trundle bed would fit underneath
I then painted the whole bed a interior HIGH GLOSS white. I debated whether or not to antique it, but decided to keep it fresh and go more shabby chic' with the style of the room when I change it.

*I just need to finish gluing on the round molding pieces.

The girls just love their new bed. I was worried the trundle bed wouldn't fit, or that I measured wrong. But it fits perfectly underneath! I am anxious to switch out the room decor and bedding. I did paint the room and leave the vinyl to make a colored border. So I am sure one of these days there will be a post on here with their new room too.
I did buy this
But it was too HOT PINK for what I want. It is beautiful, but I want a more toned down look. So back to the drawing board. I will have to hold out on changing their bedding until I find the perfect bedding set. (Anyone have any ideas where to get good inexpensive bedding?)

The kids have been so good and patient while the family room has been cluttered with the pin nailer and paint. And while the girls room has been in shambles. I feel blessed to have them still get along well and help me.

Man I love these cute kids!
